Attitudes & Values
My leadership values are hard work, integrity, and transparency
Hard work
Leaders are a part of a team, not separate from it. As a leader, I like to set the precedence for what is expected. My standards are always the highest quality possible, but I will not ask of my team what I do not ask of myself.
Integrity
I want to conduct myself in a forthright and ethical manner. I believe that to do right is worth it on its own merit, and to produce quality work is its own reward. I believe in treating others fairly and with compassion, and in being considerate of their differences and needs. I believe in diversity and equal opportunity.
Transparency
Transparency is not simply about keeping your team informed on what you are doing, it is also about providing your rationale, and allowing them to contribute to the conversation. If you simply make the decision, and then tell them about it, you are still not being very transparent. Even though the leader is typically charged with making the decisions, that does not mean they should do so in a vacuum. It is not the leader alone who bears the responsibility of the outcomes of those decisions, therefore all team members should have their voices heard before decisions are being made.
